Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat is seeking compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to support adolescents in a residential mental health treatment setting. This role is ideal for individuals interested in building a career in behavioral health while making a direct impact on youth facing complex challenges.

About the Role

The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for adolescents ages 11–17. This includes monitoring behavior, supporting daily routines, and assisting the clinical team in delivering effective care.

Population Served

Adolescents experiencing:

• Self-harm behaviors
• Suicidal ideation
• Aggression
• Substance use
• Trauma
• Mood instability
• Depression and anxiety

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Monitor, observe, and document client behavior
• Supervise self-administered medications
• Complete incident reports and required documentation
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
• Provide end-of-shift reports to leadership
• Respond to emergencies and critical incidents
• Transport clients to appointments and activities
• Conduct intake processes and room searches for safety compliance
• Monitor curfews and program rules

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions in high-stress situations
• Ability to work with adolescents in a structured residential setting
• Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes

Preferred

• CPR Certification (training provided if needed)
• 0–1 years experience in:

• Mental health 
• Substance use/chemical dependency
• Residential or outpatient behavioral health settings 

Schedule

(Weekends Required)

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
