Saint Mary’s Behavioral Health Center is seeking compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join its residential treatment team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting adolescents in a structured, therapeutic environment and are interested in growing within the behavioral health field.

About the Role

The Behavioral Health Technician is a key member of the treatment team, responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured environment for adolescents receiving residential mental health care.

Population Served

Adolescents ages 11–17 (up to age 19) experiencing:

• Self-harm behaviors
• Suicidal ideation
• Aggression
• Substance use
• Trauma
• Mood instability
• Depression and anxiety

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Monitor, observe, and document client behavior
• Supervise self-administered medications
• Complete incident reports and required documentation
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
• Provide end-of-shift reports to leadership
• Respond to emergencies and critical incidents
• Transport clients to appointments and activities
• Conduct intake processes and safety searches
• Monitor curfews and program compliance

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
• Ability to work in a structured residential environment
• Flexibility with scheduling

Preferred

• CPR Certification (training available if needed)
• 0–1 years experience in:

• Mental health 
• Substance use/chemical dependency
• Residential or outpatient behavioral health settings 

Schedule

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
