SAM Service, Inc. is seeking skilled Service Technicians to join a fast-growing team specializing in commercial cooking equipment, refrigeration, and HVAC. This role is ideal for hands-on problem solvers who enjoy working independently, delivering high-quality service, and building trust with customers in the field.
About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial equipment while operating from a fully equipped company vehicle. This is a field-based role where you start and end your day from home, focusing on service delivery—not sales.
You’ll work with a supportive operations team that handles scheduling, parts, and billing so you can focus on what you do best: solving problems.
Responsibilities
• Start your day from home using a company-provided service vehicle
• Receive Port-to-Port Pay (paid from the start of travel)
• Use a company-issued iPad to manage work orders and documentation
• Diagnose and repair commercial kitchen, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment
• Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and manufacturer support
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Deliver professional, timely, and high-quality service
How You’ll Work
• Operate independently in the field with strong team support
• Focus on service execution while office team manages logistics
• Work in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment
• Engage with customers and represent the company professionally
• Continuously build technical skills through hands-on experience
Requirements
• Experience in equipment maintenance or repair (required)
• Refrigeration/HVAC experience and EPA certification (preferred, not required)
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
• Comfortable using mobile technology (iPads, smartphones, apps)
• Willingness to work overtime and participate in an on-call rotation
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass drug screening (pre-employment and random)
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Preferred
• Prior experience with commercial kitchen or refrigeration systems
• Technical certifications or trade school background
Compensation
• $20 – $42 per hour (based on experience)
• Port-to-Port Pay (no unpaid travel time)
