MANAGER OF COMPLIANCE & EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Iona University is seeking a Manager of Compliance & Employee Relations to support the university’s commitment to maintaining an equitable, inclusive, and discrimination-free environment. This role oversees compliance efforts related to federal nondiscrimination laws and plays a key role in managing employee relations matters across the institution.
The Manager works closely with Human Resources and university leadership to ensure compliance with employment regulations, support investigations, and develop training programs that promote a respectful workplace.
Responsibilities
Compliance & Investigations
• Serve as a subject matter expert on nondiscrimination laws including Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX
• Coordinate and lead investigations related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and misconduct
• Maintain accurate documentation and case records in compliance with institutional policies
• Monitor compliance efforts and recommend process improvements
Training & Prevention
• Develop and deliver annual training on nondiscrimination, harassment prevention, and civil rights compliance
• Conduct workshops and educational programs for faculty, staff, and students
• Support awareness initiatives that promote an inclusive campus culture
Policy Development
• Draft and update policies related to discrimination, harassment, and workplace conduct
• Provide guidance to managers on policy interpretation and best practices
• Collaborate with campus departments to ensure consistent policy implementation
Employee Relations
• Provide guidance on workplace concerns including conduct, conflict resolution, and workplace climate
• Conduct fact-finding reviews and recommend appropriate resolutions
• Support leadership with employee performance and conduct issues
Qualifications Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Public Policy, Higher Education Administration, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in civil rights compliance, Title IX, HR employee relations, or investigations
• Knowledge of Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, VAWA, and related laws
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Preferred
• Master’s degree
• Experience working in higher education
• Training in civil rights investigations, mediation, or trauma-informed practices
• Experience developing institutional training programs
Schedule
Full-Time Position
Salary
$85,000 – $95,000 per year
